4/4 cello by Thomas Kennedy c.1830

4/4 cello by Thomas Kennedy c.1830

This cello is a fine example of Thomas Kennedy's work. The model retains the outline typical of English work dating back to Nathaniel Cross early in the eighteenth-century, but most often associated with the Kennedy family. This particular instrument is finished with rich dark red/brown oil varnish and has a rich dark sound to match. It is a resonant English cello with plenty of character.
