Our commitment to preserving the spirit of the J. Thibouville-Lamy legacy has seen us embark on a journey of re-creation. Introducing the J. Thibouville-Lamy Sarasate Élève 4/4 Violin: A faithful reissue of timeless master craftsmanship.
Individually handcrafted by master luthiers, with original early 20th-century J. Thibouville-Lamy Sarasate violins by their side, the Sarasate Élève uses the finest selection of European tonewoods, naturally aged for over six years. The result is an instrument that offers the tonal maturity, depth, and dynamic response demanded by discerning students, advancing players, and professionals.
The top is carved from finely grained spruce, matched with a two-piece flamed maple back and ribs, specially selected for tonal integrity and visual beauty. A hand-applied spirit varnish in deep golden amber enhances the tonal responsiveness whilst accentuating the flame of the maple beneath.
As a final touch of authenticity, each Sarasate Élève bears the iconic ‘Sarasate EL.’ button mark, stamped with precision and pride by our skilled luthiers.
Sound character: A strident, articulate and shimmering tonal palette that matures with the player.
